Sustainable Tourism CertificationEmpowering Tourism Businesses through Sustainable Certification Programs |
Türkiye aims to ensure that tourism businesses and actors are appropriately trained and prepared for sustainable tourism standards.
The country developed the Sustainable Tourism Program and Certification system – a training programme that would ensure businesses comply with the latest environmental, social, economic and cultural sustainable criteria. These criteria were developed to be directly linked with several SDGs.
By 2030, the country hopes to certify 24,500 businesses through this programme to push this part of the tourism sector towards achieving the SDGs.
