Sustainable Tourism FundPrioritizing funding for reimagining tourism infrastructure |
Italy aims to expand infrastructure improvements and support initiatives with the purpose to minimize the environmental impacts of tourism.
The Ministry of Tourism launched a Sustainable Tourism Fund to address tourist overcrowding, promote eco-sustainable tourism and support facilities accommodations to become more sustainable.
Inspired by the thematic fund, Italy received additional support from the European Investment Bank and EU Climate Bank resulting in allocation of EUR500 million to support green tourism.
