Waterfront ProjectGiving water ownership back to the people |
Brazil is working towards a systematic localization of policies to share power with local municipalities and empower local communities to take action over their lands.
The Waterfront Project encourages municipalities to prepare Integrated Waterfront Management Plans and proposes actions aimed at mitigating environmental damage and promoting sustainable development.
The waterfronts of Brazil will be sustainably managed and developed by the people living closest to the waters, balancing the needs of the water and local communities with tourism development efforts.
